Skincare Tips for Spring Break
The clocks have sprung forward, and the chill in the air is starting to subside. It’s springtime! Along with warmer weather and  fresh flowers comes another benefit to this time of year: spring break. If you’re planning to travel, the last thing you want to deal with on the road is problematic skin. But being away from home can trigger issues, thanks to changes in temperature, humidity levels and disrupted schedules. Skin becomes accustomed to our environment and routines, so switching things up can cause your complexion to go haywire. The best way to ensure your skin stays looking its best while you travel is to be prepared. Keep your toiletries bag stocked with supplies such as the MyChelle Clear Skin Spot Treatment to banish pesky pimples or the Pure Harmony Mask to ease irritation and inflammation. You’ll want to be well-stocked for any skin situation that may come your way. Here are a few skincare tips tailored to different travel plans: Hitting the slopes If you’re headed for the mountains, prepare to keep your skin hydrated and protected. Harsh weather conditions (winds, low temperatures, rain/snow) and excess sun exposure can take a toll on your complexion and leave your skin looking dull, rough and/or burned. Being in the mountains means you’re getting double the sun exposure””from direct rays and from rays reflected by the snow. So a quality sunscreen is essential. Apply a minimum SPF of 25 in the morning before stepping foot in the snow and reapply frequently while on the slopes. My favorite is MyChelle Replenishing Solar Defense SPF 30. This advanced, natural sunscreen helps to repair and avert photo damage brought on by the sun’s rays while maintaining much-needed moisture. ZinClearâ„¢ non-opaque zinc oxide protect against both UVA and UVB rays, while a blend of kukui and macadamia oils combine with red algae to reduce the look of lines and wrinkles brought on by environmental stress. Now that you’re protecting your skin, give it some extra love while you’re on vacation. Keep things like the Mychelle Love Your Lips balms handy to hydrate, soothe and protect your lips. Use a gentle yet, hydrating cleanser like the Pure Harmony Cleanser to gently wash away impurities that can lead to irritation. This nourishing gel/cream hybrid cleanser is designed to soothe sensitive skin with nutritious, moisturizing ingredients including powerful sea buckthorn, AquaCacteen and green Tea. Follow up with a reparative moisturizer such as MyChelle Deep Repair Cream to keep your skin hydrated and balanced. For the beach bum If your vacation includes sandy beaches and fun in the sun, the main goals for your skin should include sun protection and reparative nutrients.  Tanning should be avoided, whether it’s outdoors or in a tanning bed, to keep your skin looking its best.  If you’re on the beach, use a big umbrella or a floppy hat to create shade and protect your skin. Apply sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher at least 20 minutes prior before heading out. And always reapply protection after swimming or any extended time soaking up the rays. Chlorine from pools or ocean salt water may cause your skin to become dry. After a long day on the beach, give your skin some TLC with the MyChelle Hydrating Cactus Mask. This rich mask softens, soothes and helps restore moisture. Skin-protecting and antioxidant-rich prickly pear cactus combines with soothing blue agave to ease discomfort and signs of redness while deeply hydrating. Be sure to drinking plenty of water and, finally, use a good restorative cream such as the Apple Brightening Cream. This amazing cream is powered by apple plant stem cells and daisy flower extract to deliver a luminous and even-toned complexion. Rich in Antioxidants to hydrate and plump, your skin will look radiant and healthier. It’s the perfect post-beach moisturizer! Camping under the stars For the outdoor adventurer, keeping things simple is crucial. Depending on where you’re camping and what facilities are available, caring for skin can be a challenge. Keep things easy and doable by simply cleansing and moisturizing daily and, of course, protecting your skin with sunscreen. Water can be a luxury while camping, so bring along some water bottles just for your skin. Cleanse away debris you’ve accumulated from hiking, biking or just being outside. One thing that can wreak havoc on your complexion is going to bed with a face full of dirt and impurities. This can clog the pores and trigger breakouts, not to mention causing premature aging over time. Pack your camping backpack with the MyChelle Fruit Enzyme Cleanser. This soapy, sudsy cleanser will remove surface impurities while the unique multi-fruit AHAs gently exfoliate skin for a glowing complexion. It also contains the antioxidant turmeric, which helps protect skin, keep it calm and ease signs of irritation. Oh, and it works great as a body wash too! After cleansing, apply a product such as the Daily Defense SPF 17 to moisturize and protect the skin all in one easy step. Keep the Fruit Enzyme Mist handy so you can mist throughout the day to keep your skin glowing and hydrated. Antioxidant turmeric protects and vitamin C-rich super fruit mangosteen supports collagen to help skin maintain its youthful-looking firmness and structure. Pectin and pineapple help resurface by boosting natural exfoliation for ultra-soft and smooth skin. Sensational staycation Maybe your week will consist of a nice, quiet time at home. Take advantage of this break and give yourself an at-home spa retreat. Make every night count, planning something fun for yourself or anyone you’d like to invite over for some beauty TLC.   The options are endless: DIY facial night, at-home spa pedicures, even full body exfoliation sessions. You can even fool everyone into thinking you had a great beach vacation by faking it””your tan that is. Enjoy the look of beautifully bronzed skin without exposure to damaging UV rays from the sun or tanning beds with the MyChelle Del Sol Sunless Tanner. Natural sugars from beets, sugar cane and...
